Hi. I run in Haiku with libSDL, SDL image, SDL Mixer and libjpeg:

Same problem here probably as with Powermanga, could you try changing the SDL librarie from haiku-ports with the one from zeta-games? (the zeta ones should run just fine - aside from SDL_net).

The second problem with not being able to load graphics is reported to Haiku as a bug and hopefully being invested ...

(keeps fingers crossed)
