Angband is a free, single-player dungeon exploration game
where you take the role of an adventurer, exploring a deep dungeon,
fighting monsters, and acquiring the best weaponry you can, in
preparation for a final battle with Morgoth, the Lord of Darkness.
The most recent release of the game is version 3.0.9 (released on
28th July 2007), and you can download versions for supported platforms
from this page, or the source code if you want to compile it yourself.
Getting started with the game is easy. You can play with graphics or
in original ASCII text (it's more fun than it sounds), and there is
extensive in-game help. Pressing 'Enter' also brings up a list of
commands you can choose from whilst you're getting started.
Running in ZETA and Haiku (not R5 due to missing symbol usleep - beeing
looked in by the developer so when that is working I'll update the
submission).

A scrolling, platform-jumping, key-collecting, ancient pyramid exploring game, vaguely in the style of similar games
for the Commodore+4. The game is intended to show young people (I'm
writing it for my son's birthday) all the cool games they missed.

Running on ZETA, BeOS and Haiku (provided you have the needed libraries installed).
Be sure to create a ./abe folder in your home directory. Abe doesn't seem to be able to do this by itself.
