Small update: You probably already saw that there hasn't been a lot of activity on the website lately ... well some updates given aside (Tuxmath just made 1.6.2). Reason for this is as I mentioned in my last post a checkup on how Haiku is handling porting of libs and games, on wich I most say that most do it very well already. The other reason is that I'm asked to act as a mentor for the TuxPaint project for Google Summer of Code (GSoC), the student I will be mentoring will be writing a system file dialog for TuxPaint. I was somewhat suprised but very happy when they asked/proposed me. I'll do my very best to guide Bruno trough the summer and look forward in recieving new code to checkup. In the meantime watching out that the new code doesn't break BeOS's port. ;) Project details can be found here. |

The goal of the game is to assemble the picture from pieces. Each picture is divided into pieces which are shuffled. You need to get each piece back to its original position. You accomplish that by swapping pieces (exchanging their positions). You have a limited number of swappings for each picture. The game is over when you complete 3 images, and for each one you get the points. If you have a hard time playing this, you can look at the images directory and see what the final picture looks like.

"Tux, of Math Command" ("TuxMath," for short) is an educational arcade game starring Tux, the Linux mascot! Based on the classic arcade game "Missile Command," Tux must defend his cities. In this case, though, he must do it by solving math problems. Discuss in the forum. Running on ZETA and BeOSR5 and Haiku (extract to /boot/apps/Games) TuxMath 1.6.3 has been released, with much more extensive internationalization. The Linux build now uses SDL_Pango to allow right-to-left rendering for Arabic and Hebrew, and font selection for display of Asian and Eastern European characters. Many additional translations have been added, mostly from Ubuntu's Launchpad project. Under Linux, TuxMath now supports 21 languages! However, we do not yet have SDL_Pango functioning in the Windows or MacOSX build. We do, however, have GNU Gettext itself working on all platforms, meaning that Western European translations work in Windows and the Mac. |

An addictive action-puzzle game involving bouncing penguins
There's a bunch of penguins on an iceberg in Antarctica. You have
been selected to catch them so they can be shipped to Finland, where they
are essential to a secret plot for world domination.
IceBreaker was inspired by (but is not an exact clone of) Jezzball, by Dima Pavlovsky.

Working on ZETA, Haiku and BeOS R5.
